Job Description

Role Overview :

• Research Analyst supporting broad financial services research, similar to work done by data analysts and research firms.
• Covers company, sector, and thematic research across banks, insurers, asset managers, fintechs, and market infrastructure.
• Focus on transforming unstructured public information into clear, decision-ready outputs..

Key Responsibilities :

1. Company & Sector Research

• Build detailed company profiles and deep dives across financial services firms.
• Analyze business models, segments, strategy, risks, and catalysts.
• Support sector and thematic research across topics such as:
  • Rates and credit cycles
  • Consumer lending
  • Payments
  • Wealth management
  • Regulation
  • Capital markets activity

2. Financial Analysis & Modeling

• Analyze financial statements and operating KPIs.
• Maintain comparable company tables.
• Build and maintain lightweight Excel models including:
  • Forecast drivers
  • Scenarios
  • Sensitivity analysis

3. Research Outputs & Reporting

• Produce high-quality written outputs, including:
  • Research memos
  • Investment-style notes
  • Slide-ready summaries

4. Market Monitoring & Insights

• Track news flow, earnings, guidance, and key events.
• Synthesize key implications from developments.

5. Data Collection & Source Verification

• Source and verify information from:
  • Regulatory filings
  • Annual reports
  • Investor presentations
  • Earnings call transcripts
  • Regulatory publications
  • Reputable news sources

6. Knowledge Management

• Maintain a structured knowledge base of:
  • Sources
  • Assumptions
  • Workpapers
• Ensure high quality standards, clean documentation, and reproducible outputs.

Candidate Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of experience in research, consulting, banking, markets, or analytical operations.
• Strong accounting and financial statement analysis foundation.
• Proficiency in Excel and building clean, auditable workbooks.
• Strong writing and synthesis skills.
• High attention to detail, good judgment on source quality, and strong ownership.

Preferred / Bonus Experience :

• Prior exposure to financial institutions such as banks, insurers, asset managers, exchanges, or fintech companies.
• Familiarity with common financial services metrics, including:
• Comfort working across multiple geographies and reporting regimes, including:
  • SEC
  • UK
  • EU
  • India
  • APAC
