Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Fractional CFO with manufacturing sector exposure to partner with founders and leadership on fundraising, financial strategy, and plant-level financial operations. The role requires strong hands-on expertise in costing, margins, working capital, and capex planning, along with investor-facing experience.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Investor Management :

• Lead fundraising readiness including financial models, pitch decks, and data room preparation
• Work closely with founders during interactions with lenders, Bankers and strategic investors
• Support valuation analysis, term sheets, and due diligence

Manufacturing Finance & Costing :

• Oversee product costing, BOM analysis, standard vs actual costing, and margin improvement
• Drive inventory management, WIP controls, and working capital optimization
• Support capex planning, plant expansion, and ROI analysis

Financial Planning & Strategy :

• Own budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow planning, and financial modelling
• Track burn rate, cash conversion cycle, unit economics, and operational KPIs

Controllership & Compliance :

• Lead finance controller functions including accounting closures, audits, and reporting
• Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, GST, and regulatory requirements
• Strengthen internal controls and financial governance

MIS, Profitability & Decision Support :

• Build strong MIS, dashboards, and board-level reporting
• Provide actionable insights on cost reduction, pricing, and profitability improvement

Stakeholder & Board Management :

• Act as finance partner to founders, board members, investors, bankers, auditors, and plant leadership
• Communicate financial performance clearly to non-finance stakeholders

Ideal Candidate Profile :

• 12–20+ years of experience in CFO / Finance Head / Plant Finance leadership roles
• Mandatory experience in manufacturing (process or discrete manufacturing preferred)
• Proven exposure to fundraising
• Strong hands-on background across costing, FP&A, controllership, and working capital
• Experience with PE-backed or growth-stage manufacturing companies preferred
• Comfortable working in a fractional, high-ownership role.

Engagement Model :

• Fractional / Retainer-based engagement
• 3 days per week commitment
• On-site presence in Mumbai – AmberNath preferred (plant + leadership interaction)
• Immediate focus on fundraise readiness and manufacturing finance rigor.
