The employer is a privately held investment advisor in India, with offices in Mumbai.
It has two main businesses – 1) providing non-binding real estate investment advisory services to global institutional investors, club/commingled, discretionary funds with respect to opportunistic investments in India real estate and 2) providing portfolio management services to clients seeking to invest in public equity in India.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. GST Compliance:
- Prepare and file GST returns in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monitor changes in GST laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's compliance.
- Reconcile GST accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Provide guidance to other departments on GST-related matters.
2. TDS Compliance:
- Handle TDS compliance, including deduction, deposit, and filing of TDS returns.
- Ensure compliance with TDS provisions under the Income Tax Act.
- Reconcile TDS accounts and address any discrepancies.
3. Financial Reporting:
- Prepare financial statements and reports in compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends and variances.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for audits.
4. General Accounting:
- Perform general accounting tasks such as journal entries, ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
5. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial information and support.
- Assist in financial planning and decision-making processes.
- Participate in financial analysis and cost reduction initiatives.
6. Compliance and Regulations:
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws, accounting standards, and financial regulations.
- Ensure the organization's adherence to relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Should have an analytical outlook
