Job Description

Role Overview

The HR Operations role is responsible for managing efficient, compliant, and employee-focused HR operations within an insurance organization. The position supports the complete employee lifecycle, ensures adherence to regulatory and statutory requirements, manages HR systems, and plays a key role in driving employee engagement initiatives while continuously improving HR operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

HR Operations & Administration

  • Manage end-to-end employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, role changes, transfers, and exits in line with insurance industry standards
  • Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and personnel files, ensuring data confidentiality and compliance
  • Implement and update HR policies, procedures, and documentation as per company guidelines and regulatory norms
  • Respond to employee queries related to HR policies, benefits, and internal processes

Payroll, Benefits & Statutory Compliance

  • Coordinate payroll processing by validating inputs such as attendance, incentives, and statutory deductions
  • Administer employee benefits including insurance, PF, gratuity, and other statutory benefits
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, IRDAI guidelines, and internal audit requirements
  • Support statutory audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting

HR Systems & Data Management

  • Manage and optimize HR systems including HRIS, ATS, and time & attendance platforms
  • Generate MIS reports and dashboards related to headcount, attrition, absenteeism, compliance, and engagement metrics
  • Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of HR data

Employee Engagement & Experience

  • Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives, communication programs, and HR-led activities
  • Support engagement surveys, analyze feedback, and drive action plans in collaboration with HR leadership
  • Strengthen onboarding and employee touchpoints to enhance overall employee experience
  • Partner with business leaders to promote a positive and compliant workplace culture

Process Improvement & Controls

  • Identify opportunities to streamline HR operations and improve employee experience
  • Support automation initiatives, SOP development, and workflow documentation
  • Strengthen internal controls to meet audit and compliance standards

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 5–7 years of experience in HR Operations or HR Generalist roles, preferably within insurance or financial service.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS, payroll, and attendance systems
  • Strong interpersonal skills with high attention to detail and organizational ability.
