Link your PAN with Aadhar before 30th June

The Government of India has mandated every PAN card holder link their PAN with Aadhar. This due date, after several extensions, was 31st March 2022. Just before the due date, the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has come out with a notification dealing with linking PAN with Aadhar after 31st March 2022.
According to this notification, one will have to pay one-time fees for linking the PAN with Aadhar. This fee is Rs 500 up to 30th June 2022. If the person fails to link his/her PAN with Aadhar before 30th June, he/she will have to pay a higher fee of Rs 1000. So, if you have not yet linked your PAN with Aadhar, ensure that it is done before 30th June to avoid higher fees.
This fee is required to be paid via Challan No ITNS 280 with Major Head 0021 (Income Tax Other than companies) and Minor Head 500 (Fees). Once the payment has been done, it will take 4-5 days before one can link their PAN with Aadhar.
So, if you are yet to link your PAN with your Aadhar, go to the Income Tax Department’s website, pay the requisite fees and link your PAN with Aadhar before 30th June.
